A report on workshop | Naagas: The Knowledge and Science of underground springs in the Himalayas, Kinnaur

In the semi-arid landscape of Middle and Upper Kinnaur, natural spring water sources are a gift of nature and people are deeply dependent on them for domestic, cultural and irrigation purposes.
Given the experience of the People’s Science Institute, Dehradun, they were invited to co-facilitate the workshop and share their expertise on local springshed management in other parts of the Himalaya.
The workshop was structured over 3 days. It was organised by Youth Clubs of Akpa, Jangi, Kanam, Khadra, Moorang, Rarang & Spilow, People’s Science Institute, and Himdhara Environment Research and Action Collective, for youth from seven villages of the Moorang Tehsil in Middle-Upper Kinnaur.
